Proteinase K는 높은 활성의 비특이적 subtilisin 관련 serine proteinase이다. Proteinase K는 다양한 pH 범위에서 EDTA와 같은 Chelating reagents 또는 SDS와 같은 detergent 의해 비활성화되지 않는다.
